Hi, welcome to my website. I’m Amber Smith, a senior Computer Science major at the University of Texas at Austin. This semester (Spring 2020) I’m taking the 3D Game Development Capstone in addition to my Computer Graphics and Game History and Culture classes. I’m also working as an Undergraduate Assistant for the Virtual Reality for Games class.

I made my first game in Unity when I was in High School, and I haven’t stopped making games since then. This website showcases a bunch of my old and current projects.

Testing Rain on the Oculus Rift

Right now I’m really interested in VR development because it’s an incredible immersive technology that I find really exciting because it keeps evolving. I love learning how to work with new VR hardware, and so far I’ve worked on games for the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Quest, Google Daydream, and Windows Mixed Reality headsets. Check out the “VR Projects” tab to see some of the cool VR games to which I’ve contributed!

Losing at Ms. Pac-Man at the Strong Museum of Play in Rochester, New York

Some fun facts about me are that my favorite game is Animal Crossing (in fact I’m a little bit obsessed- check out the 3D models I’ve made for 3D printing a house and van from the games). I also like to read a lot- I read 56 books in 2019! I’m also not very good at Pac-Man, but I really like the song “Pac-Man Fever” by Buckner & Garcia.
